Response to Govt Response to Petition While I do not agree with all of the content of the petition, the spirit is justified. I think the OCR C21 course comes close to what we want but could be clearer about how it is addressing two needs: the need for a course in scientific literacy accessible to all students, and the need for a science course to prepare students for advanced study. Click here to read my response to the government (not that anyone's listening). AQA 2006 and Beyond A new resource for teaching physics HSW. Click here. Materials I produce for the physics parts of this new spec will appear here. The full SoW and resources for Physics 1a that I devised can be downloaded here. I'd appreciate your feedback - some parts are quite specifically linked to our Media Arts status so might not fit with your school. An indexed version of the HSW part of the new v1.1 spec. A table to allow you to cross-reference the parts of HSW that are hit by particular activities in your SoW. A teacher guide to the newly-introduced ideas around measurement error. (Thanks to Paul Lister at AQA for helpful discussion around this; more comments and feedback welcome.) (Update 2007: this work is now incorporated as part of the AQA Teachers' Guide v1.1 to which I retain copyright.) A list of questions about the Physics 1a spec which came out of a review of the Nelson Thornes book and were sent to AQA in Feb 2006 with no reply. A summary of the physics exam questions which have raised doubt amongst teachers is coming soon - email me with any additions for this. AQA Unit 2 A practice paper and mark scheme for P2, I hope perhaps a little better than the specimen materials! OCR 21st Century Science What a great course! You will find Powerpoint presentations for each physics unit as well as revision sheets in the student area of the site. Just remember these were devised for the pilot course - there are some significant changes to the 'real' course so check against the new spec. Start here. Other Physics Resources Do you want something? I might well have it on a CD here somewhere ... email me.
